Flying Elephant Studio thrives on the energy, enthusiasm and fresh thinking of a team of young architects who work closely with experienced senior partners. Projects benefit, in no small measure, from our long association and creative collaboration with structural, mechanical and landscape consultants.

Our strength lies in innovative conceptual thinking backed by demonstrated experience, skills and technical expertise to competently translate ideas into reality. The diverse nature, in building type, scale and location, of commissions secured over the past 15 years gives us a distinct professional versatility.

rajesh renganathan

Architectural studies at CEPT, Ahmedabad and U Penn, Philadelphia. Established an independent practice – Rajesh Renganathan Architects in 1994, based in Bangalore city. Entered into a partnership with Iype Chacko and started Flying Elephant Studio in 2007.

Rajesh’s professional interests include architectural and urban planning directions derived from his research on spatial patterns in nature. Attention has been focused, in recent projects, on integrating landscape architecture and building from conceptual stages of the design process. Currently his work also looks at hybrid building concepts that combine and transform new as well as traditional building typologies, within a contemporary context.

iype chacko

Studied architecture at CEPT, Ahmedabad(1994-2000). Worked with Brewer Smith & Brewer Gulf, Dubai, as Project Architect (2000-2006). Was an Associate, forming part of the founding team of dxb-LAB, Dubai, an architecture office that has achieved international recognition for progressive design in the Middle East. Iype’s professional experience is wide, ranging from large scale hospitality, institutional, high rise and industrial buildings to residences and interior projects.
